The Imperial Protector. 17 July 1943. 96 St.3.331/43- K. 17. VII. 1943 1.) Personally! Privately! Confidential! To the head of the Department of Forestry, Mr. Landforstmeister Pflanz, Prague. Retr.: nature and wildlife reserve Groß-Seelowitz. Vorg.: There. Vorstellung vom l.12.v.Js. - Sign no.II/3-371- 7-711/3/42 v.Z./Bs 6 After a further thorough examination of the matter and in agreement with the Reichsführer/Reichskommis- sar for the consolidation of German folkry I cannot approve the measures of the hunting authorities against the hunting cooperative Brenowitz. I do not ignore the fact that the integration of the Community hunting district Branowitz into the representational hunt of Groß-Seelowitz may have been achieved to round off it. However, the concerns of the representational hunt do not justify it by any means to force German farmers against their unanimous will to give up hunting ground on their own ground, which they have exercised for decades - until the intervention of the Czech authorities in the year l936 - and whose resurgence after the expiry of the hunting lease concluded by the then Czech municipal council with the Foretamt Seelowitz welcomed them with satisfaction. A renewed withdrawal of these hunting rights - now on the part of German services - would have to be carried out by these in the struggle against popularism.
