DR. WALTHER STURM GOVERNMENT COMMISSION OF THE CITY of Pilsen Pilsen, 26-June 1942, RATHAUS. ANRUF 668. SeRoDgQrO L Re p or o in Bohmen and Mahcen Eing= 27.JUNI 1942 Subject: Leadership of the office of "Oberbürgermeister" by the government commissioners.- sealodl Dear comrade K.H. Frank ! May I speak directly to you about the above, which is not in itself world-changing but important for us government commissioners in the larger cities? I do this because, as I have learned, the matter has been settled in the office of the Imperial Protector for weeks in all directions and prepared for completion, but then probably stuck on some desk. SEDE The question of the official designation of the Government Commission. misare needs a solution especially because, originally only in Pilsen, but later also in other cities, the permanent representative of the government commissioner received the designation "mayor". This has produced certain undesirable consequences, especially in the sense that the population is uncertain about who the municipality leader is and what function the government commissioner has to perform alongside the municipality head - as the protectorate inhabitants, because they are unaware of the regulations in the empire, the mayor. It is therefore probably necessary for the Government Commissioner to be given the title of "Mayor of the Lord" and for this to continue consistently the line begun with the award of the title "Mayors of the Mayor" to the alternates.
