This year, as I would like to say, this year not only in Prague, but also beyond that, will undoubtedly be the occasion for a review and an outlook on the development of the countries of Bohemia and Moravia under the protection of the Great German Empire. It is my task today to present to you the five years of political development in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia in the mirror of the Czech Pres- tices. I would therefore like to make three points at the beginning of my work, which clearly illustrate the course of the press policy process in the protectorate of Böhmen and Moravia. Firstly, the starting point: I need to say very little. From the last congress of the Union here in Vienna, you will all remember the lecture of the Prague archivist Dr. Rudolf Urban, who gave an illustrative excerpt from the preselection that we found in Prague at the time, to introduce his documentary publication on "Democrat press in the light of Prague's secret files".
