2.3 -- tectorate. These things are caught up today, in the past year even so far, that it is for the first time possible to make a certain surplus. These are the successes of the market organization organized by the German state, a success of the addition of the formerly innumerable agricultural splinter associations to a large organization, to the association for Lend- und Porstwirtschaft. I would just like to take an example of the work done here in the Protectorate for such associations. In the year l943 alone, the association's book for this purpose sold more agricultural books than in the last four years to the Republic by the largest agricultural publishing house at that time. Or let us look at the side of the workers' organizations. We have let the Czech trade unions exist, we have put them together today in a large commercial centralization and created danit an important instrument of our social politics. Dicese Gowerkschaft takes care of the labour force in every way. It carries out Rciahard Heydrich's recreation campaign, named to the Deputy Reichspro- tector Heydric, it provides for professional clothing and work shoes, for community catering and work kitchens, for cultural support of the workforce through theatre, libraries and leisure design, and it has made itself particularly popular by the establishment of factory pauson events - all things that Czech workers had never known in his system time. With German funding, we have replaced the plethora of Czech social organizations with a large organization of "social assistance", which, for the Czechs in Bohemia and Moravia, is, so to speak, the German Winter Relief Agency, and its first collection result of 127 million crowns has never been achieved before. Behind all this is a large social legislation in an approximation to the social provisions of the Reich, especially with regard to social security, accident insurance, insurance, widow's and orphan's care, the provisions on occupational safety and health and a healthy wage policy, probably the most impressive example of the generous treatment of the Chechnya people is its population policy development.
