2a - 2 - The first package was detonated at the opening of the Office of Archives in Warsaw, where two departments were seriously injured. The second package appeared suspiciously to the head of the employment office in Warsaw because of incorrect spelling of the address and, despite all precautions, detonated when a detonator of the technical emergency service wanted to make it harmless in the presence of the security police, killing the detonating officer and seriously hurting a criminal officer. The next four parcels were already recorded on the post office on 5 and 6 March 1943 on the basis of the measures taken by the commander of the security police and the SD in Warsaw, and were partly checked, partly by firing, and the seventh package was secured in Krakow. All Hellmaschinen-Päckchen previously recorded were placed on the post office Warsaw C l and were intended for recipients in the general government. Nevertheless, there is still the danger that further parcels are also given up at other post offices and possibly sent to the Reichsgebiet. In my quick letter of 6.3.l943 a transmission error occurred on the first page below. It must be correctly called: "The address is written with typewriter and in a corner with a circular stamp, the address "The Governor General ........" etc. The Staa: police authorities have been ordered to warn all relevant authorities and party departments - in particular the post offices - accordingly. If such hell-machine packages occur in the local business area, I ask you immediately to inform the next department of the secret state police.
