This condition will lead to a greater effort of strength and perhaps also a financial effort in quiet times at worst. However, it can appear embarrassing if, under the influence of the war events, disturbances of everyday life should occur in certain areas. Occasionally, an administrative report has already been pointed out from here that, in a practical case of robbery, with apparently political backgrounds, a few hours after the crime at the scene, the variety of the police divisions that appeared and the juxtaposition of their activities did not leave a convincing impression. Since this unwelcome present situation is due to two causes, namely the transfer of the police organization in the old Reich and the takeover of the former protectorate police formations, a remedy within the protectorate alone is unlikely to be complete. The organization of the secret state police, of course, departs from the considerations from the outset in the direction of a change in the existing state. But also with regard to the German criminal police a complete integration should be avoided. Merging with the protectorate criminal police seems impracticable, since the criminal police together with the secret state police represents the security police within the framework of the Reichspolizeiorganisation.
