The Chief of the Berlin Police of Order, December 2, 1943 Kdo.gI - Ib (Fp) No. 541/43(g). Secrets Betr.: Field post traffic of Italian soldiers and volunteers employed in the police of order. Approved: Without. For the Italian soldiers who are in the Police of order and are willing to help, field mail supply will be established immediately. It shall be carried out in accordance with the following principles: l.) For the time being, postcards and letters up to 100 g 2.) Italian volunteers shall be authorized to send 2 weekly notifications to their home country. They shall use the field post number of the unit of the police in which they are incorporated. 3.) Self-employed Italian combat units of companies shall receive German fieldpost numbers. The application for allocation of Fp-No. shall be addressed to the Main Office of the Police of Order. 4.) The soldiers of these units shall be entitled to an unlimited exchange of messages. 5.) In both directions, the postal service must be directed to the Munich Office for the Verification of Foreign Letters for the purposes of the defence. The postal service will be provided there by the field post offices. 6.) The units will deliver the mail delivered by the Italian soldiers and volunteers, separately from the German field post, to the field mail office. In the opposite direction, the Italian post offices or prefectures will send the consignments sent to the Italian soldiers and volunteers to the next German field post office. Furthermore, the shipments in Italy can also be delivered to German field postal authorities. 7.) The extension of this field postal service will be subject to regulations.
