The Imperial Protector. August 12, 1943. St.S.382/43. 1 1.) To the Federal Foreign Office, Berlin W8, Wilhelmstraße 74-76. Subject: Document publication of Dr. Rudolf Urban "After Siberia?" (experiences of Czech colonists in the country of the Soviets). In the spring of this year, I commissioned Dr.Urban, from the representative of the Foreign Office attached to my authority, to search the political archive he is currently managing for files that reveal political difficulties between the former Czechoslovak Republic and the Soviet Union. The research conducted by Urban revealed a number of reports from the diplomatic missions of the Czechoslovak Republic in Kiev and Moscow on the severe impoverishment of some Czech settlement groups based in the Soviet Union. These reports are excellently suited to combat the anti-rich propaganda carried out by the Bolshevik side under the Czech population. Gerlach and Under-Secretary of State Woermann agreed on the evaluation of the files of the former Czechoslovak Ministry of Foreign Affairs for propaganda purposes.
