Bdo. Ia 10 70 Prague, the 1.1.1944th contribution to the daily order No. ..... (green). How illegal elements in the protectorate try to come to arms! On 7.1.44, 19.15 clock, a Rottwachtmeister of the Gend. was threatened in an iron railway compartment between Hnojnik and Wojkowitz, Bez. Friedeck, by six unknown bandits, with pistols and asked to hand over weapons and money. The bandit was cut by one of the bandits and robbed with a pistol. In Wojkowitz five bandits got out. The sixth bandit threatened the Rottwm. with a gun held up until the train started. Although the Rotthwm . after the sixth bandite jumped off immediately pulled the emergency brake and with train control gendarmerie took the persecution, the perpetrators escaped in the darkness. In order to prevent such incidents, I order: 1.) All members of the police, who are forced to travel individually or go individually in remote areas, have to take precautions, especially during the darkness, in order to be able to counter similar attacks ready to defend themselves. 2.) Every credulity leads to its own harm; mistrust is absolutely necessary! All senses are sharpened to the fault! 3.) In such cases pistols are loaded and secured at hand depending on the position in the handy forward pistol pocket, under certain circumstances also in the coat, skirt or trouser pocket to wear. In the case of the slightest suspicion of an attack, it is immediately reckless to make use of the gun. This order is to be announced to all Rev., subordinates and men as well as administrators in the rank of officers from time to time. Practical training must be based on incidents of the described kind. On my Erl. Ia 10 70 v. 20.5.43 and the daily order no. 2 v. 15.1.42, regarding carrying weapons, I point out. Ia 10 70). II. ZdA. Major General of the Police.
