Commandant of Watfen - -2. X. 1944 Division VI Bohemia and Moravia. Prague, Food and Agriculture 6 GKI 1944 Ministerial Office VI/1 - B - 1100 - 10/44 T! WV ing. 2 OKT. 1944 Fu. WM Verw. St.O. Steb. An 4-Obergruppenführer Minister of State Frank im Hause. Subject: H-Truppenprätzesplatz Beneschau. On 11.9.1944 one of my employees visited the site in consultation with the commander of the army training ground in Bohemia and the responsible site management. Without being able to answer here the individual results of the visit, two fundamental questions arise from the gained findings and according to the report I have become. It must be made clear that, without prejudice to its training regulations, the force must be involved in the appropriate level of cultivation and harvesting; the shooting operation on the square must also take account of this. The second, much more important question is to what extent the artillery target area, which has so far been demarcated on the square, with an increasing duration of war and the increasingly difficult food situation to this extent must be preserved. I believe that the target area can be reduced in favour of the farms located on the outer edge of the city and I would ask that the arms-ił cause be taken to clarify this issue. It cannot be held responsible that agricultural production is carried out in the target area, the harvest of which cannot later be recovered as a result of the interests of the troop. 42281 E l.
