a strong visit to May's devotions, which have always enjoyed a strong popularity among the Czech population, with a great deal of splendour and ceremonies. For the German population it was clear that all political and military events would be discussed by the Czechs on the basis of the strengthened church visits and other church events, because whenever special events were observed in the war or in politics, the churches would be visited even more strongly than usual. In a report from Troppau it says: "In larger churches, e.g. in Trappau itself, the Czechs are standing around in groups, putting their heads together and only when a suspect comes, is "in fervently" prayed on." Although the participation of the Czechs in pilgrimages had increased, this was also due to the desire for personal contact and a thorough exchange of ideas. To this end, pilgrimages would be very suitable, since on this occasion one could meet unrequiringly with like-minded people from numerous congregations. German people called the pilgrimages demonstrative marches of Czechism. For similar demonstrations, Czech weddings, especially funerals, would often be arranged by Czechs. F.d.R.d, transcription: pp
