The Head. Rr.6744/43/E/G. Information requested on reply. Ministerc 23. OKT. 1943 To the Elng. Minister of State ss-Obergruppenführer Karl Hermann Frank, P r a g Bds Czerninpalais. Mr. Minister of State, it may well be that in connection with the recent events in the East, the Wehrmacht and civil authorities have ordered the evacuation of certain areas of the country. A large part of the local population had supported the Germans there in the struggle against the Bolsheviks in one form or another, so the German authorities in the East are now doing everything they can to save these people and help them to save at least their naked lives as far as possible, because they are threatened with certain death if they were to get into the hands of the Bolshevik people. A small number of these people have been deported to Prague by the German authorities, especially those who have relatives or friends here. Among the people who have arrived here are persons who have proved themselves to have provided valuable services to the Germans in the East, who have received full recognition. For example, Univ.Prof. I. M a 1 i n i n from Krasnodar, who was involved in the investigation of the Winnizer mass murders, which is also confirmed by Dr. W a e g e n e r by the East Ministry.
