In your letter of 7 April, Mr. Main Editor, we would like to inform you, after agreement with the other members of the Government and with the agreement of the President, that the Protectorate Government is the Government of Mr. President Dr. Emil Hácha. The majority of its members were members of the Government as early as March 1939, when the President of the Republic took the step which they are now asking of us to pay tribute to, and you know that the Government of that time unanimously assumed full responsibility for the action of the President.
