English Translation
The head of the special section fulturpolitih (iV). W/Kt XIA/°I Betr.: Use of the Spanish Hall of the Prague Castle for a SA event. As I can see, the Prague Command Office of the Supreme Assembly intends to hold the Spanish Room of the Castle for an SA event with Chief of Staff Schepmann. I believe that it is necessary to prevent the serious cultural-political concerns which hinder the approval of such a request: the Spanish Hall is the beginning of the 1 7th century of Rudolf II. was built as a banquet hall of the Emperor and the King of Bohemia and has been used over the centuries only very rarely and then always for events of very special rich representative character. Even in the time of the Czechoslovak Republic, one did not dare to shake this tradition and made use of the hall only occasionally for the representation of the then president. After the establishment of the Protectorate, the Hall was used exclusively for representative events, to which the Reich Protector invited as representative of the Pührer as head of the Reich, usually for the representation of the Empire in relation to the Czech people and abroad. A review of the hall for an even so important SA event contradicts this tradition, which also tends to be respected at other representative sites of the empire. Furthermore, a precedent of not foreseeable scope would be created by the approval of such an event. Similar requests from other divisions of the party, Wehrmachtteilejusw. could hardly be rejected, so the Spanish Hall would completely lose its special character. I propose as a spare room the large festival hall of the Rudolfinum or, if necessary, the Deutsche Opernhaus Prague (which, however, is extremely occupied by the Duisburg Opera). The Rudolfinum holds about the same number of seats as the Spanish Hall, the Opera House 300 more. II./ 1-Obergruppenführer State Minister/Frank presented with the request for approval..
