The liquidation of the army is deliberately delayed and sabotaged by Czech officers, for the purpose of enabling them to continue to have a share of the most reliable officers under uniform leadership and to be able to use them in various phases of the national defence struggle. As early as 23 May d.J.', a confidential meeting took place in the building of the square commando in Prague, in which Colonel Hochmann, the corps commander, said it was important to carry out the liquidation of the army as slowly as possible in order to gain time.
