Dr. Vojtěch M a's't n ý, born l8.3.l874 in Prague, residing Prague XIX, Jan v. Werth Str. 9, former Czech envoy in Berlin. (Appendix 5) It is obvious that Prof. Kossuth was initiated into politically highly delicate questions and problems by his partly quite friendly relations with the aforementioned persons. Prof. Kosuth, for example, told one of his acquaintances in the summer of last year, "that the former Reichsprotektor v. Neurath, as a hunting guest of the current Reichsprotector, had stopped in the Protectorate. v. Neurath had also eaten lunch with him on this occasion and told him that he had stayed some time ago in the special mission in Lisbon to anticipate the possibility of peace negotiations. His mission had failed. The news of such attempts by the Reich, which was distributed by the Reuter office at that time, was in connection with this journey of Neurath. v. Neurath had been offered long ago to return to Prague. However, Neurath had made the condition that Gtaatsminister Frank found another use. This claim 82990 had been rejected by the Führer. v. Neurath was by no means to be regarded as a private man, but he considered himself to be future foreign policy tasks in reserve." It can be assumed that Prof. Kossuth also gave his knowledge to other persons. His intimate friends, the former Hungarian Consul General and the Pchweizerisches Consul-General may have had particular interest in this. Whether Kossuth consciously promoted the intelligence interests of these foreign diplomats is not clearly discernible, however, seems to be evident from a report by Jedóch, according to which Prof. K. Urgently asked the former UN Consul General for a debate, as he had to inform him of "interesting things" he had experienced. The efforts of Prof. Kössuth to portray i-Brigadeführer B e r t s c h are significant and also very revealing in terms of intelligence.
