36 The following report is intended to give an image of the inner forces of the Slovak uprising and its effects, unimpeded by all that has been experienced afterward, just as it could be gained through immediate insights and experiences and indirect conclusions. When I went to Slovakia on 12 August, I was asked to examine the question of the importance of the ethnic groups in contrast to the ethnic denominations within the social strife of the Slovak population, partly by identifying gift centres (densities points), partly by applying the so-called priedhof method.
