201 Excerpt from No. 361/II/44 of 14.10.1944. As we already reported, the Slovak National Council in its circle also welcomed two political gist from Moscow: the envoys Jan Šverma and Marek Čulen. Both spoke at the plenary session of the Slovak national council and interpreted the greetings of the Ishechozlovaks abroad and the heroic soldiers of the Red Army. They reported on the life in the UdssR, on the čsl, resistance movement abroad and how much Hoskau welcomed the popular uprising in Slovakia. Šverma spoke above all about the achievements of the Ubssr. He underlined the unity of the Czecho-Slovak resistance movement overseas, which should also be preserved in the homeland. The new republic must be better than the first, especially in social terms and in relation to the problem of nationality. He stressed the future close relations with the Western powers and stressed that the basis of our national and state existence would be a moderate Slavic Russia.
