The Imperial Protector in Bohemia and Moravia Prague, April 4, 194o I1a-734 Abschrif t £.a.d. Telex /. 875.40. To a) The Lords of the Upper Land Councils (Prague by special messengers) b) The Moravian Group Subject: Donations of the Czech population for the war relief work for the German Red Cross I refer to the calls by the Czech National Social Lavers and the Protectorate Government to the protectorate population for participation in the war aid work for The German Red cross. There are no concerns that the Pro- tectorate population will participate in the war relief work for the German Red Cross through donations. In doing so, I assume that the Kriegshilfswerk for the German Red Cross is a measure which strengthens the German Rote Kreuz in order to enable it to fulfil its tasks in the context of the war, i.e. primarily with regard to the German Wehrmacht. Since the German Wehrmacht has to protect the Great German Empire in its entirety, including the Protectorate of Bohemia around Moravia, it is on the grounds that the protectorate population also bears its share in the war relief work for the German Red Cross. As far as implementation is concerned, however, it does not necessarily mean that collections in. the population of Germany and the Czech people together. Rather, the collectors of the organizations which the protectorate administration is using will be limited to the fact that they only visit the protectorates of non-German ethnicity, the collector of the Czech National Social Camp exclusively their followers. I refer, for example, to the carrying out of the metal collection. In representation : Signature \D 3
