Copy security service of the Reichsführers SS SD section Prague III D 2 - PA 1289 Prague-Bubentsch, 18 August 1942. Sachsenweg telex 774-44 To the State Secretary at the report F 23/S. Reichsprotector in Bohemia and Moravia SS group leader K.H. Frank, Prague. Betr.: Director Dr.Ing. Šarek, Jindřich, born 5.7.1891 in Friedek near Mähr.-Ostrau, factory director of PEIG in Königshof. Preliminary report: Monitoring order by SS group leader Frank. Anlge.: l. Dr. Š. joined the PEIG blast furnace plant in Königshof in 1916 as an assistant. He was one of the most dangerous chauvinists and spiritual leaders of the Czechs at Königs Hof. After the establishment of the former Czechoslovak Republic, due to his chauvinist attitude, he brought it within a few years to the factory director, after he had previously succeeded in enforcing the removal of the leading German personalities. The decisive factor for this was an article written by him and published in the "Český denik" of 6.2.1921, in which he called on the then president of PEIG, Dr.A.Stransky, to remove "the anti-state elements" from their privileged positions. (Appendix). His initiative is also due to the fact that most of the German workers were either dismissed or retired early in the following years. By paying the lowest wages he wanted to force the remaining Germans themselves to resign. After the establishment of the protectorate, he primarily protégé chauvinist Czechs of the work, to whom he helped to better positions with the wage increases, while the Germans remained unrecognized.
