REPRESENTATION OF THE STORAGE PROTECTOR during the German rally at the Prague Opera House on March 15, 1942 Today's celebration has united us into two thoughts: to remember the historical decisive act of the leader for the Empire and Bohemian Days three years ago — and to express our gratitude to the fallen heroes. German history and the heroism of those who shape it demand that we do not commit such days of remembrance narrowly and smallly, but always show ourselves worthy of the true greatness. In this sense, this celebration is for us an hour of looking back, contemplation, collection and foresight, both of a historical and of a human nature. Historically, we want to look back at the recent past of the decline and discord of the empire, which, as always — also seen from a far-reaching perspective — means times of need and weakness for this space with its people. We want to look further back, but time and time again from the infinite history of our empire we remember the successes and the mistakes and as an eternal reminder for the future keep awake in us. 65
