- 3 - 69 Man is the benchmark for all political, economic and cultural action The liberal-democratic system sacrifices to the principle of the return on capital the happiness of millions of creating people. The worker is condemned to years of unemployment if according to the laws of the plutocratic world a restriction of production seems necessary. The farmer is handed over to the dictates of the American grain exchanges. Whole areas remain undeveloped if the lords of the stock exchange prefer to invest the savings of the European peoples in overseas speculation. Bolshevism, however, uses matter to latch the machine, takes the land from the farmer, imputes it to the force of the machine-tractors stations, or drives it to mammoth factories, where it is a mere accessory to the machine for the armor of the world revolution. On the other hand, in a Europe of solidarity and solidarity, the old idea of European civilization, whereby man is the measure of all things, emerges from the traditional European attitude. In it, European civilization will complete in the field of social, economic, cultural and political life. The people's community overcomes individual and group egoism. It secures the life and survival of the entire nation, like every individual Liberalism bases its social system on the individual. The struggle of all against all, the right of the stronger and the victory of unscrupulousness are the result of unbridled freedom. The peoples, however, do not consist of a sum of separate living individuals or social groups, of which one of the other enemies, nor of shapeless herds, which are a willing tool in the hand of a ruling caste. They are made up of personalities who - connected to each other by common lifestyle and a special way of thinking - voluntarily fit into the community of the nation and in it and through it secure and fully develop their way of life.
