a brilliantly beautiful day left the old German imperial castle in Prague and took leave in a solemn procession through the whole city, past the silent witnesses of the German past of Prague, those to whom history is not the mere sequence of time events, but who see in it the work of creative men that Reinhard Heydrich's work cannot and is not extinguished. This is the only way to make sense of Reinhard Heydrich's sacrifice. The publication of this brochure, commissioned by the German Minister of State for Bohemia and Moravia, SS-Obergruppenführer K. H. Frank, therefore, represents an act of gratitude to the man who, in a serious hour of the latest history of Bohemia and Moravia, picked up the attack directed against the empire from this area in time, smashed it with all the means of power at his disposal and thus laid the basis for a healthy development in all areas of life. At the same time, however, it may also be a reminder and obligation for all those who have been given the heavy but also grateful task of being able to create in Bohemia and Moravia, in the spirit of Reinhard Heydrich, who fell for the greatness of the empire, to work on the fact that this space, which Bismar once called the "Citadel of Europe", becomes one of the most powerful bases of the Empire and gives every inhabitant a sense of security. The contents of the brochure are intended to provide a comprehensive picture of Reinhard Heydrich's personality and work. An in-depth appreciation of his work as head of the security police and SD is contained in Wilhelm Spengler's essay "Reinhard Heydric, Werk und Wesen".
