The Head of Division IV (Cultural Policy) Prague, April 1, 1944. 73 W To the Minister of State #Obergruppenführer F.r a n k. Betr.: Brief report of the Oberlandrat in Königgrätz of March 21, 1944. Anl. I have reviewed the complaints contained in the short report of Oberland Rat in Königgrätz with the following result: 1.) Betr: Film screenings on the Heroic Memorial Day. The relevant decree of the Reich Minister of the Interior was dated March 6th and was announced by telex of the BdS. dated March 10th. A corresponding press note was also initiated by the BDS. only in the course of March 10 and therefore appeared in the Protectorate press on March 11th, i.e. the day before the Heroic Memorial Day. The corresponding official press release from Berlin was also not received earlier. There was only a preliminary announcement from the Reich's Ministry of Propaganda, according to which a decision of the Führer was to be awaited on this issue. The Böhmisch-Mährische Filmzentrale had, by circular from 7.3.44 to all Lichtspieltheater according to which in the years before 1943 the instruction stated that only serious films can be played until 2 pm. According to this official press note, I immediately ordered a change in the order of the Bohemian-Mährische Filmzentrale, which was announced in the fastest possible way via the Ministry of the Interior to the district authorities. The telex mentioned by the Oberlandrat in Königgrätz to the Oberlandsraten (Gez. Dr. Oehmke) contained only the informational communication on the amendment of the regulation adopted by the Film Centre. It is therefore not correct that the content of this telex was sent by the Oberlandrats to St. M. IV 9-19a/44
