-3- 61 Station Moscow 5 April 1943, 7:30 p.m., Czech: "These days the hearts of the Czechoslovak women and mothers are filled with pride, because a Czechoslowak fighting organization in the Soviet Union, led by the Supreme Swoboda, successfully passed the clash with German attackers. South of the city of M. (or N?) the Czechoslovak soldiers defeated the attack of 60 German trucks accompanied tanks. They fought one day and one night with the enemy, destroyed 19 German tanks and killed 400 German soldiers. Colonel Swoboda and his people fulfilled the task assigned to him in the most outstanding way, brought the German onslaught to stand and caused the Hitler bandit bloody losses. Czechoslovak women and mothers! Heroic and exemplary your sons fight against the Hitlerocupants and throw themselves fearlessly on the side of their Russian comrades in the bitter fights. So they fight for their fatherland and so they complain for the sufferings that you, Czech women and mothers have to endure, for the unbill of Lidice and Ležáky, for tears that innocent Czech children shed for their parents, who were robbed by the German executioner's hand. They go into the fight and wrote on their flags: Death to the German occupants! They know that only the death of the occupants can give them the freedom of the fatherland for which they fight. Czechoslovak women and mothers! The first successes of the faithful sons of the Czech people in the Russian war scene must be an incentive to you. The thought of these heroic young men may not leave you, think of you, who have to work in the armaments, remember that perhaps the very grenade you are supposed to turn can bring death to your sons, brothers and men. Remember especially at the moment when your tyrants want to lock up the book in the slave cage. The thought of the Czechoslovak boys who have shed their blood for you, for the future of your children, may the power give you the strength to take a negative stance in the struggle for the German slave owners, -4-
