Aational Socialist German Workers' Party Gauleitung Sudetenland Gauamt for war victims To the Secretary of State Karl Hermann F r a n k , SS-Brigadeführer The Head of the Gauamt : Ing.Rudolf Staffen. in P r a g IV. Czernin'sches Palais. Unfer Signs: Ing, St/N Ihr Jeichen: Reichenberg, den. ..19.Sept. 24/9 Fernruf: Der Gauamtleiter Ing . Staffen 2115 Subject: Nazi Reichskriegerbund Call: Die Gaudienfstelle, Leffng-Str. 4325 (Note in the "New Day"). Dear Secretary of State! Dear comrade Frank ! Your letter of 12.9.1939 and the newspaper clipping (Nskov, regarding the non-recording of those soldiers who were not on the front and reference to the NSRCB) I received, thank you very much for your contributions and allow me to mention the following to the complaint of the Nazi Reichskriegerbund : The contents of the above mentioned newspaper notes are factually correct and impeccable. The NSKov must not accept those soldiers who were not at the front. The reception of these soldiers, who must of course also be captured, is reserved for the Reichskriegerbund. I do not understand why the Reichskriegerbund can make a complaint to you in this matter, all the more so as several complaints from NsKov comrades were addressed to me, who saw in those press notes, which also appeared in SudetenGerman newspapers, an advertising maneuver by the NSRKB, but I had strictly stopped all activities with regard to the state of war, according to the instructions given to me and would only hope that the same happens on the other hand. To my knowledge, the NsRkB had an appeal in Prague last Saturday, which seems completely superfluous to me. I have in any case caused all the NSKov's men to be made unreservedly available to the competent High Authority, which has happened everywhere. We have thus put the Nškov membership completely behind the party and are completely at the disposal of the High Authority.
