Labour input 1.) Overall development By exploiting all reserves of power, the number of employees increased by about 31 500 to 2 276 300 persons. The proportion of female employees has increased from 705 450 to 738 870 over the same period. 2.) Measures to attract workers for urgent needs In order to also use the last labour force reserves, the employment offices are currently carrying out a review of the registration campaign and the employment register. The removal of the public service and insurance sector will continue; in trade, the male forces aged between 18 and 45 will be examined in cooperation with the Central Association of Trade for their possible use in the arms industry. The so-called civil economy in industry and crafts is further narrowed by the removal of workers and the shutdown of productions. The special measures carried out in Prague at the end of June (road and local raids) have proved that the mass of the population is fully covered by the labour force. The fact that a disproportionately large proportion of the resident persons came from the rest of the economy proves that it has so far concealed certain reserves of forces, whose ruthless recording is now being carried out. 3.) Use of the labour force a) Armaments economy In the period under review, some l2 ooo forces were generated by the armaments industry. The fulfilment of the application program is extremely difficult due to the aggregation of the demand for forces in a few Bedari varieties. b) Reichsgleich In particularly stored individual cases forces were delivered for a limited period of time for training on new productions and for the elimination of special bottlenecks. 1 500 forces were made available in June in Brüx. - 2 -
