STATE SECRETARY FOR THE RUSSIAN PROTECTOR IN THINGS AND IN MORAVA, PRAGUE, inv. 1900, sig. 109-5/128
English Translation
- 2 - an unheard-of attack on the policies pursued in the Protectorate towards the Czech people, it has largely condemned the situation and, on the occasion, proclaimed the primacy of the party in dealing with all issues related to the Czech problem. It seems that - according to the letter attached to the copy - the Reichsministerium des Inneren intends to intervene in these matters, as it did in the first period after the establishment of the Protectorate. Although I believe that these attempts cannot have a lasting success, the protectorate, both in the state and in the party sectors, has created a considerable sense of insecurity among my officials on the one hand and the district and local group leaders on the other. Such insecurity is unheard of in the fourth year of the war and in view of the fact that so far it has succeeded in controlling the fate of the Protectorate and its work performance uniformly in the interests of the Empire without disturbances of security and peace of labour. In the meantime, it should have become common good of the state and party departments that the Protectorate, by the nature of its leadership, still represents one of the best-fried new territories in the Great German Reich and compared to the territories occupied or influenced by the Reich. In view of the overall political situation, the advance of Dr.Jury and Secretary of State Dr.Stuckart fills me with serious concern. As a connoisseur of the space and so far only responsible for the politics in the Protectorate, I can only urgently warn against the line which begins to slip away after the postponement of the statute on the part of the state and the party. There is nothing worse for politics in this area than the incitement of several places, especially those places that do not know enough about space.
