No.171Stck.24x1Abt.L Dt.10.12Event: Berichten &pol.wage, on the other hand, courage and possibility. Thus, the mood is still on waiting. Foreign radio and whisper propaganda contribute to keeping the nationalist hopes awake. The economic events of October the year were determined by the abolition of the customs border on 1 October the same year. On the whole, the economy of the Protectorate has been transferred to the Great German Economic Area without palpable falls. The effects in detail cannot yet be conclusively considered. The food situation in the Protectorates lies below that of the rest of the Reich. In particular, the supply of fat to the population is still difficult and, in the long term, not sufficient. Since the deliveries of grain from the Reich do not take place in the expected way, the bread must be provided with additives which do not insignificantly reduce its quality. It had to be ensured for the most part by coercive measures on the part of farmers. Here, too, the deliveries promised by the Reich are slow to start. Prices in the Protectorate are aligned with the price level in the Reich. Wages have followed the free increases in most sectors of the economy. As a result of this, it is clear that there is a need for a reduction in the number of employees in the labour force, and that this is not the case in all the Member States.
