Appendix 1C Copy. Speech by the President Dr. Hacha on 15 March 1942. Expensive fellow citizens! Today is the third anniversary of my historic journey to the Führer. When we look at the historical events that we have been experiencing since this eventful day, we are clearly aware of how the historical date of March 15 is being fulfilled with ever new content. First of all, we saw this day as a symbol of protection and salvation from the imminent flames of the war fire, which later hit so many peoples. Only with the advance of the idea of the European mission of the Great German Empire, March 15 acquires a new and far richer sense. It grows into the symbol of our own commemoration revolution, the symbol for our submission to the social, economic and cultural system of the Empire. Out of conviction and on the basis of the admiration of the victorious development of the empire on internal, external and military areas, we have matured from the idea of passive protection to growing active participation. We are increasingly merging with the Reich in all areas of our activity. If we want to keep up with the leading German people, we are trying to be seen as good employees rather than as overcome opponents. As a substitute for some of the positions that we have lost due to the fall of the former, reckless policy, we achieve that our relatives come to the wide competition areas of the whole empire.
