Weber received the young Richard Wagner as a guest in the conservatory in 1832 and performed the just completed C major symphony along with other compositions by Wagner. Under Weber's leadership, the Conservatory soon became an important factor in Prague's musical life and its fame ran far beyond the borders of the country. In 1842, a delegation of the Institute participated in the solemn revelation of the Mozart monument in Salzburg. In the same year there was a performance of the "Don Giovanni" in the original version in the Stand Theatre, in which, with the exception of Don Giovanni, all roles were filled with students of the Conservatory. The title role sang the singing teachers of the Institute Gordigiani. Director Weber died in the same years. The "Highly Angese" director's post was awarded to Johann Friedr. Kittl, a famous composer. Kittl, a youth friend of Wagner, also composed an opera text written by Wagner: "The French before Nice. Under Kittl's direction, various reforms and extensions had been made in the curriculum. The concerts of the Conservatory Orchestra were constantly gaining in importance and splendor, and more often world-famous artists acted as soloists. In 1845 Berlioz visited the Conservatory and "was very surprised and deeply seized when he heard his overture 'King Leare' play by half-growing boys fiery and precise. Among the occasional guest conductors of the conservatory orchestra, Liszt and Bilow appear. Anton Bennewitz, in particular, was chosen by the later directors during his 30 years of management. After moving to the newly built Rudolfinum (1884), the institute developed into a music college in the modern sense. In 1839, the Prague organ school, which had been in existence since 1830, was joined by a department for "higher piano playing" (i.e. piano as main subject), as well as a department of composition and conducting. Anton Dvo rák was appointed professor for composition in 1391, who then held the artistic direction of the conservatory from 1901 to 1904. Above all, however, Bennewitz led the ridiculously famous violin school of the institute to the climax of its importance. Already the first violin teacher, Friedr. Pixis from Mannheim, had laid a good reason for this school, whose tradition found a fine truer in Moritz Mildner. However, from Benneice school, which was the same MildNER's pupil, went among others K. Hoffmann and J. Suk, the violinists of the famous "Bohemian String Quartet", and Fr. Ondřícek and O. Šefčík. Šafčíks, teachers at the Prague Conservatory from 1892, were among others Kubelik, Kozian and Em. Ontřík, also two teachers of today's University Institute of Music in Prague. Professors H. Koch and W. Here, Schweyda maintains the famous tradition of the Prague Geigerschule, which is predominantly a German school. In the first half of the 19th century, the use of the Czech language in which purely German institutes were established in the first 50 years of its existence was given an ever wider field, and in 1918 the linguistic parity developed until then was brought to an abrupt end. One of the first cultural-political actions of the Czech-Slovak government was to dissolve the "Society for the Promotion of Sound Art in Bohemia" and to seize its assets, which came to a large extent from German sources. In 1919 the institute was transformed into a Czech State Conservatory and the use of the German language allowed only the students enrolled at that time, but no longer re-entered. In response, the southern German cities and music companies decided in the same year to establish the "German Academy of Music and Performing Arts" in Prague. The Academy, which is therefore to be regarded as the real successor of the old Prague Conservatory, was opened in September 1920. The German students of the Czech Conservatory passed over in a closed manner. Hiezut came to 140 new students.
