STATE SECRETARY FOR THE RUSSIAN PROTECTOR IN THINGS AND IN MORAVA, PRAGUE, inv. 1776, sig. 109-5/4
English Translation
-2- Sons in the field stand or have stepped back into the ranks themselves. Therefore, no generation can so clearly grasp the meaning of the present struggle, measure the helpfulness of its actions and understand the bitter necessity of its victims, as the present generation of fathers and mothers who offer their sons in this most decisive war for Germany. We honor the fallen and honor those to whom they have been snatched. I ask you to rise from your places: "We remember the fallen of the two great wars In reverence and gratitude for the greatness of their sacrifice In faith and in the certainty that their sacrifice means Germany's life." (Song of the Good Comrade) Germany's sons are fighting from the Arctic to the Libyan desert. Their achievements are unprecedented in history. They are only possible through the sacred faith in the future of the Great German Empire, through the holy conviction of the mission of the Führer. From it flows the heroic power which inspires the fighters at the outer borders of the European space and on the ozes. It is a sacred task of the homeland to do its own, in order to prove worthy of the victims of the fighting front, to help this sacrifice to its highest meaning: to victory. This happens not only through achievement, through work and restriction, it happens to the same extent through the spiritual readiness, through the firm faith in victory in all phases of this war. With this faith we affirm the meaning of the blood sacrifice, which finds its fulfillment in the great future of the kingdom.
