- 3 - is primarily open and male sincerity. We must no longer want to go along the path of unpleasant things. We also have to admit mistakes and be made out of the world according to the pattern of the great German people. And in the past three years unfortunately many mistakes have been made with us. We do not want to judge today whether it is out of understanding the actual situation or out of unprocessedness. The Great German Empire has shown understanding for the emotional shock caused by the previous events. The obstacles to cooperation have been gradually removed so that we can live in the new conditions. Nevertheless, some of our people have given preference to the ideas of political romanticism. Certain circles, at the instigation and under the influence of the unscrupulous propaganda of some irresponsible emigrants, have dreamt of a resurgence of state independence and have been guilty of acts aimed at the victorious power of the empire. Despite warning from the German and Czech sides, foreign propaganda has led them to actions that could not succeed. Not only did the perpetrators themselves have to do so, but they have also caused serious damage to the whole people. This sad period is now behind us. After the bitter experiences, the majority of romantics have also learned that it is neither useful for the people nor reasonable to continue in this activity. After his disillusionment, the people see with full confidence the future that the President has prepared for him and the leader has assured him. Czech fellow citizens! After a short period of existence of the Protectorate a war has erupted, as it has not yet existed. Anyone who thinks with reason will understand that during the war the advantages of the establishment of the protectorate could not come to full fruition. Only uncritical people can judge the Protectorate from the point of view of those certain limitations that have just been caused by the war,
