No.171Stock 24X Abt.L Dt.10.14 Process: Reports & pol.wage July 1940. Report on the general political and economic situation in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia for the period from July to August 10, 1940. The situation described in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia in July 1940 did not make any significant changes during the period under review. Only in order to have recorded some politically significant individual manifestations, the following is reported: In political individual actions against anti-rich Czechs, because of their special importance, the situation described on July 10, 1940 is reported. Dr. Klapka was arrested in July 1940 and was arrested by the Primator of Prague, Dr. Klapka. Dr. Klepka is suspected of supporting anti-rich efforts in connection with Czech emigration abroad and with the Czech resistance movement and of passing on news about secret Reich affairs to abroad. During interrogations Klapka made a partial confession. In connection with this, among other things, the personnel officer of the city of Prague, Dr. Nestaval, was arrested, who was at the same time head of the district of Prague of Narodni sourucenstvi (National Community). Since Nesta Val confessed to his misdemeanor activity, on 6 June 1945 he was arrested. On August 1, 1940, the district of Gross-Prag of the "N.S." imposed a ban on activities, closed and searched the district management and 17 district leaders, as well as the youth organization. Since this measure affects one sixth of the total membership of this Czech party, it is of particular political importance, especially since the new Central Committee of the "N.S" is just to be appointed by the Czech government and confirmed by the President Dr. Hácha as the leader of the N.S. In August 1940, the Czech Red Cross was also dissolved throughout the Protectorate because it has been shown perfectly that the Czech red cross supported the illegal Czech resistance movement (Narodni Odboj) with medical supplies, in the replacement institute for rescue operations in the Protectorates.
