Prague, 22 December 1941. V e r m e r k : I visited President Hácha at the castle at 6.15 p.m. In the next room Mr. Havelka was waiting with two police commissioners who had brought him to President Hécha for an interview in private at 3.40 p. m. President Hácha explained to me that, following the signing of the agreement with Havelka, he would take over the guarantee for Havelca for his leave of absence from prison. He added that Havelki had taken note of the openings and conditions formulated in writing without any objection or objection and had signed an undertaking in writing. He said that although he thought Havelka looked bad, he was not as bad as he expected. Mr Popelka, who was present, asked whether leave from prison could be expected at least until 1 January 1942. He informed the apartment of the Havelka that this evening Mr. Havelska would return to the apartment. I then went to the two Gestapo commissioners waiting for him and to Havelko and told the Stapo officials that they had now to lead Havelca from the castle to his apartment and that their duty had ended there. fhMmy
