The 8th classes of higher and middle schools were allocated to the labour force; the age limit for women on the labour market was set at 50 years, and sham working conditions were penalised. Simplifications in the field of financial management cover primarily tax returns which are not re-negotiated in 1944 for income up to RM 12 000. Furthermore, the procedure of assessment and delivery is simplified and appeals are restricted. The sports business is also restricted and is only allowed insofar as it serves exclusively the relaxation of the creating population, without the loss of working hours or burdens of traffic arise. The company sports and the club sports at the club headquarters on Sundays and holidays as well as on working days from 6:00 p.m. Gaumeisterschaften, Pokalspiele etc. Public horse races are no longer permitted. Also the post office and the railway carry out appropriate measures. Private printed matter as well as postal goods and urgent packages are no more allowed; the acceptance of ordinary parcels is limited according to the existing cargo space. The letter boxes in the streets have disappeared; some writers will have to consider whether it is worth running to the post office because of every letter. Telegram traffic has also been limited to the necessary measure. The railway has stopped a number of trains and also carried out other traffic restrictions. But most of all, external life is affected by the actions in the cultural sector; cultural renunciation is probably the most difficult for all of us; but it is precisely this that proves our indomitable will to contribute by all means to the victorious ending of this struggle. A large number of newspapers and magazines have stopped their publication with the 1st and the 2nd of September respectively. The production of entertaining books is interrupted. Furthermore, as of 1 September 1944, all theatres, varieties, cabaret and circuses were closed. Only some local circuses such as Hagenbeck, Sarrasani and in Prague the circus Apollo (in Brno the Czech circus Henry) remained with regard to their valuable stock of animals. The orchestras are dissolved with a few exceptions; the German Philharmonic Orchestra and the Czech Philharmonic have remained in Prague. Radio and film now have to provide for the relaxation of the creators alone, although they also have to submit numerous followers. In total, 389 theatres were closed throughout the Reich.
