At the beginning of 1939, Czech-Slovak Railways dealt with a surplus of employees. Their need was estimated by the Ministry of Transport at 76 692, however, the number of auxiliary and definitive employees was 82 400 persons. This condition was increased by another 2440 employees who returned from Slovakia. Part of them was fired from the German Reich Railways. Another wave of redundancies occurred in December 1940 when 3624 employees lost their jobs at the Czech-Moravian Railways, 589 of which decided to leave for work in the Empire. In the following years, the demands of the Reichs authorities on the broadcast of the Protectorate Railway Workers for temporary service classification at the German Reich Railways rose. The first transport with the Protectors was sent to the Remnants of 25.3.1942 from the Pilsen Central Station. In 1942 eighteen transports with a total of 9246 persons were dispatched to the Empire, in 1943 (until July) 45 transports of 2034 persons.
