Secret Reichsssache! Eggy! To Herr Reichsführer Martin Bormann, Führer Hauptquartier Subject: Expropriation of the Czech nobility. Dear Pg. Bormann. according to my last report, after confiscation of the possessions of ten of the main exponents of the Czech nobility /namely: Kinsky, Belcredi, Sternberg, Schwarzenberg, Lobkowicz, Czernin, Kolowrat, Strachwitz etc./. These are estates of cca. 50,000 hectares, which in the future will be of great benefit to German emigration and colonization. The above-mentioned gentlemen and with them some others belong to those intellectual heretics who, using their German name and their noble relations in the Reich, the Eastern Mark and Hungary, are particularly harmful to us, especially as regards espionage. It should be noted by the way that they are the ones who, thanks to their social relations with ambassadors of peoples / dependent on Reichsminister Neurath/, have been informed of many prepared measures that have spread and prevented their implementation. The reason why I feel motivated was a confession of loyalty which these aristocrats addressed to Beneš in the name of the Czech nobility on 17 September 1938. I rejected all attempts to intervene made by the Reich in favour of these aristocrates, in particular by the State Councillor Count Goltz, whose name is repeated. I draw with German greeting your Reinhard Heydrich SS-Obergruppenführer Prague, 16 May 1942
