REMARKS

At school and college in Prague until 1944. Taken off for forced labour in spring of 1944. Returned to Czechoslovakia with German Labour force. Released by Russians and internal resistance May 1945. Took first state law examination in Autumn of 1946 and came to England to improve his English. Stayed with sister Monica George (married to British subject) Major George who was on the staff of the Military Mission to Prague after the war). Has worked with a shipping firm, Coach and Friend in the City for over 4 years. Intended to return to Prague but decided against it after the Communist coup in Feb. 1948. Parents managed to get out of Czechoslovakia late in 1948 - They now live with her here. Several holiday trips to the continent since his original arrival. He is interested in languages and people. A well spoken, superior, intelligent man. Has been thinking a good deal about application for British nationality but has reached no decision yet. No security interest.
