You have signed a statement in connection with the application for a certificate of naturalisation made by Mr. Joseph Czernin, with whom you claim to have been closely acquainted and to have known personally for five years.

The Secretary of State would be obliged if you would inform him how you became acquainted with the applicant, and to what extent you have maintained the acquaintance either socially or in a business capacity. Any remarks you may wish to add that might be of assistance to the Secretary of State in coming to a decision on the application will be appreciated and will be treated as confidential.

It would facilitate the work of the Department if you would kindly reply in the space provided overleaf, returning this communication in the enclosed envelope (which need not be stamped).
