42 The Secretary of State. 11 January 1943. St.S.7/43. V 1943 1.) To Mr. Reichleiter Bouhler, Berlin W 9 , Voßstrasse 4. Reichleister ! The spelling "prismisliden" as a substitute for the writings "Przemislids, Přemislides and Premislide" has been repeatedly brought to my attention. That I deal with the matter is explained by the political significance of the question. Before writing "Przemisliden" and other variations, the spelling "prismislids" has the advantage that the Slavic origin of the word is suppressed and a word form is created, which is common to the German in both the writing and the pronunciation. I have had a report from the Councillor of Government Zankl on the matter reimbursed, which I follow in copy. In the Protectorate, I have now introduced the spelling "Pris- mislids" from official channels. I may encourage an examination of the question whether the spelling "prismislids" should not be taken up in the Reich scale in the course of eradicating Slavic residues in the German language and whether the proposal made by Zankl should be declared binding by your mediation in all parts of the Great German Empire. Heil Hitler ! Your 2.)
