In these, scientific book studies and book art are reflected in everything that is important for a serious book lover: reprints of literary and culturally significant writings, facsimiles,lexical-bibliographical works, catalogues, biographical material, descriptions of book and illustration art, literary research and first editions of German literature in pre-portrait book equipment. Among other things, the comprehensive yearbook "Impri- matur" provides an overview of the various epochs of book-commercial development and the intellectual and artistic powers that influence it. Thus, Volume VI deals with Romanticism, Volume VII with classical and practical books. Volume VIII honors the writer Karl Klingspor and outlines the bookmaking in the XVIIIth century. Volume IX is dedicated to the master printer Carl Ernst Poeschel, remembers Johann Gutenbergs and gives a representation of German book art in the first quarter of the XXth century. This volume, which includes 360 pages with 210 pictures in the text and on plates as well as 48 script samples, was awarded the second prize in the competition »Preliminary book creation 1941«. A regular newsletter will inform you about new publications of book-loving and cultural value, offers of the antiquarian and book auctions, after the abolition of the war-related restrictions in the printing industry. Finally, the Society organizes annual meetings, during which the biblio-phile idea is cultivated in lectures, exhibitions and library visits and deepened by personal contact of the members with each other.
