a n the threshold of the fifth year of my work as stage director in Moravia-Ostrava - and at the same time on the 35th anniversary of the "Stadttheater" - the following statistics should not be without interest. The development shown in it since 1938 was carried out according to schedule step for Schrilt and with a cistern consequence. It was not always easy, especially with regard to war-related causes. It was pleasing to see the reverberation of the artistic rise of our Bühnc, not only in the home town, but far beyond photo hacks of its borders. When the acting ensemble of the Staditheater Mähr.-Ostrau was appointed a four-month KdF. Wehrmachtstournee (May-August 1942) in the south-east region and gained outstanding successes with our field greys — when the young Ostrauer operetta was invited Prag and in the next season Preßburg (also in the context of the there : "Wiener Gastspiele" next to the Vienna State Opera, the Vienna Burgtheater and the Opera House of the City of Vienna), so to regularly supervise two state capitals with operette performances - this is certainly full-bodied evidence of the high level of our home stage. The foreign guest performances have probably contributed most to the reputation of our theatre. In 1938/39 it was only 36. Thus 1941/42 the maximum number of 191 was reached. In the coming season, however, this number will be significantly reduced and we will limit ourselves to guest performances in larger cities in the Hauplsache, Crosse and beautiful tasks expect again this year the Arbeifsgemeinschaft of the city theatre members. We want to fill them joyfully and with ever new saltiness - bearing in mind our vocation as a sulfur-political soldier in the Great German Empire.
