Prague, 14 July 1943. 5 memo for Dr. G i e s. The present matter was discussed by me with Minister Dr. Bertsch and it was made clear that the cooperation of the protectorate filament lamp industry with the Community of Electric Lamps, Berlin, had to be carried out. After consultation with the Leiter GEL, Dr. Freiberger, an agreement was reached to the extent that on the one hand all companies of the Protectorate voluntarily join the TEL, on the other hand, the special conditions of the protectorate are taken into account with the following rules: 1./ The TEL establishes its own office in Prague for the firms of the Protektorate. 2./ This office will carry out traffic with the authorities and services of the Protectorate. 3./ In order to carry out these tasks, a full-time managing director with his head office in Prague will be appointed, who will be elected from the protectorate industry. 4./ This office is affiliated with the Section for Electrical Industry, Subgroup of the GELs, the Economic Group for the Iron and Metal Industry in Prague and will thus be in close cooperation with the Business Group. As far as the managing director is not fully qualified for the TELs by his work, he will be working in the subgroup. 5./ Dr. Freiberger assures that a representative of the protectorate industry will be involved in the working committee of the TEL and other representatives in the other committees. 6./ The Tungsram company, as well as in the rest of the Reich, will not become a member of the GEL./.
