100 21 September 1940. St.S. 505/40 d President Dr. Hácha, Prague. Mr President, I have taken note of the contents of your letter of 6 September 1940. The publication of the three articles in the German press was only initiated because within four days prior to the 4th anniversary of the death of the President of the Republic of Germany. A large number of messages were received from the whole of the state territory that a certain terror and persecutions against supporters of the Vlajka were practiced by Czech authorities and by organs of the Národni souručenstvi and by private business operators, who would be regarded here as a disturbance of public peace and order. Of course, this matter has nothing to do with the necessary intervention of the public bodies against the violence of Vlajka supporters. I have also personally discussed the case with Minister Ježek.
