List of the powers granted by our most holy Lord Pius XII, through divine Providence Pope, the field bishops or supercathedrals, as they may be called, in all states or territories in which the state of war or convocation of the soldiers exists or will exist; these powers may be transferred for the benefit of the priests and clerics, as well as the soldiers and other creditors who accompany the army on land, on water and in the air (as far as they subordinate them by military service), if they are only suitable and worthy, for the sake of both priests and clergymen and soldiers, and other faithful who accompany it on land and in air; and these powers apply only for the duration of the present war. 1. To hold Mass twice on Sundays or other offered feast days and to carry out the Holy Eucharist (evening meal) for the general benefit in case of emergency, even on Jerk days, but in compliance with regulations and sobriety. 2. Mass to be held in an honorable and benevolent place, even under the open sky and on a ship, if there is no danger of defilement and a just cause, but under the precaution, as often as the Mass is held under the free sky, that in order to avoid the dispersal of parts of the Holy Eucharist by the tent, which surrounds the altar on three sides, is placed. 3. To enjoy the personal privilege of the "privileged altar, they shall offer the sacrifice of the Mass as an intercession for the seamen of the wartime fallen. 4.
