The Commander of the Security Police and SD Prague, 20 August 19 40 Office of the Secretary of State Cab. No. B. d. p. VII - E bein Reichsprotektor in Bohemia and Moravia. Vitte in reply to boron standing business premises and give date Eing.: 30.AUG.1940 To the 4551 Tgb. Nr.: Higher it- and police leader at the Reichsprotector in Bohemia, and Moravia 44-group leader Fr a n k Prague. Betr.: Situation reporting of the police in the Protectorate. Anlg.: 1. According to an order of the Reichsführer i and chief of the German police, political situation reports are prepared by the units of the Police in the protectorate at certain intervals. Although these reports are primarily intended for the internal use of the order police, they are also sent to the Reichsführer 4 and head of the German police, the Higher 4th and police leader as well as to the Under-Secretary of State and the Commander of the security police. For a long time now it has been established that these reports go beyond the apparently intended framework of event reporting in the fields of the police and aim to provide a political overview of the situation. In order to provide reliable political information to the authorities of the police and to the units established in the Protectorate, such as the reputation of the order police, which could suffer from inadequate reporting in the offices and personalities outside the German police force, it is proposed that the higher 4 and police leader of the RFi and chief of the German Police should make an amendment to this effect - 2 -
