$ - 2 - The Upper Land Councils are enabled by the relief from administrative work to devote themselves to their actual tasks as supervisory and control bodies of the Reich Protector. Their number is reduced from l5 to 7. Through their supervision, they have to act in such a way that the tasks of the Reichsauftragsverwaltung are fulfilled according to the Reich laws and the goals of the state leadership. As a special task they are tasked with besides the party and in agreement with it the care of the Germans. In order to ensure a uniform orientation also of the specialized administrations and to immediately clarify fundamental questions beyond individual districts, a "general inspector of the administration" has been set up temporarily. His experience in the inspection activity at the same time constitutes a means of further developing the administrative reform. It is intended to integrate the authority of the Reich Protector in accordance with the 8 autonomous ministries and the postal administration and to incorporate the department heads and their staff into the key positions of the autonomous central authorities, so that the Reichsprotektor has the direct influence through this leadership staff with the slightest need for personnel. In the same way, the central administration of the Reichsprotektor's authority and the transfer of these tasks by Division I, whose head is also deputy to the autonomous Minister of the Interior, is about to be abolished. In addition, the autonomous Ministry of the Interior has established the posts of a general commander of the uniformed police force and a general com-mandant for the non-uniformed police, who are under the leadership of the higher 4 and police leader. The management of the operations of these general commanders has been taken over by the commanders of the police and the commander of the security police. At the same time, a reorganisation of the heavily translated autonomous authorities is in preparation. It is carried out by transferring numerous tasks to the subordinate bodies and by simplifying the largely outdated administrative provisions. Here, the cumbersome administrative apparatus will be effectively organised and a significant part of the Czech staff will be assigned to war-related work.
