Czech_Population On the two special days of March, the mood and attitude of the Czech population remained essentially unchanged. The peace and order has not been disturbed anywhere. March 7th, the birthday of Masaryk, was in some places unmistakable as a tacit holiday; holiday clothing was worn, guest and entertainment places were more frequented. At the celebrations on 15th and 16th the Czech population was emphatically reserved. They were kept away from roads and public squares; it seemed that the gliding ice and the flood hazards at the same time were used as an opportunity to turn all their interest to them. Even the Finnish-Russian peace agreement could only endanger the conviction of the victory of the Western powers, which was still to be found almost everywhere until the end of March, for a short time and by no means in a remarkable way.
