The unaltered mood and attitude of the Czechs, as reflected in the reports of the previous months, has repeatedly found its characteristic expression in April. The flash-like use of the German Wehrmacht in Denmark and Norway, as well as in September 1939 of the Blitzkrieg in Poland, did not miss its impression on the Czech population. The newspapers and extra-leaves found riffing sales; e.g. in Brno the special edition of the "Moravské noviny" had a circulation of 60.00o piece. However, the news of foreign radio and whisper propaganda has quickly raised the mood of the Czechs as on previous similar occasions. Even the most improbable foreign success stories are uncritically believed and the hopes for the final victory of the Western powers are derived from the expansion of the front, a US entry into war, an alleged discord with Russia, etc. Without a sense of the sober language and the content of the German Wehrmacht reports, which is repeatedly proved by the follow-up events, is distributed as a "witness": In the past the fairy tales began: "Once upon a time..." today with "The High Command of the Wehrmascht announces". However, it cannot be doubted that every new disappointment strengthens the vision from time to time. For the Czech people, too, the war, although it only indirectly feels it, is a nerve test, since wide circles have the impression that it is not a matter of compensating the Germans with the aim of peaceful coexistence, but of a meagre or less brutal domination of the Czech People. Other testaments to the political attitude were the co-operation after the murderer Smudek, the flag on the birthday of the
